Programs

We fully recognize that there are a number of excellent initiatives in place across the United States designed to address the looming crisis of a shortfall in the construction industry workforce. Some of these programs (e.g., the ACE Mentor Program) are intended to be national in scope. However, as with so many other concepts, different regions will have varying degrees of acceptance of, or progress with, such programs.

Building Future Builders can provide the most benefit to the construction industry by becoming a central comprehensive knowledge base and clearing house for new, and existing, programs. Building Future Builders will seek out best practices, new ideas and initiatives; making this information available to the educational systems and to the construction industry. In some cases (see Construction Summer Camp) Building Future Builders will take a central role in rolling out pilot programs, with the goal of creating a comprehensive manual for replicating the program in other communities. For most programs, excepting named scholarships, Building Future Builders will facilitate, rather than administer programs.
