Mission Statement

ConstructionJobs.com is the nation's premier employment job board and resume database built exclusively for the construction, design and building industries. Established in 2000, ConstructionJobs.com has been ranked as the top construction Internet Job Board for the past three years.

ConstructionJobs.com has watched and assisted the careers of professional builders and has seen trends in construction come and go. ConstructionJobs.com knows that a deep concern held by leading builders in the United States is the decline in enrollment at colleges and universities in construction programs and the sense among those builders that they may fall behind in finding the next generation of young people who will build the structures where we live, work, and gather.

In 2006, The ConstructionJobs.com Scholarship for Students in Construction was established to accomplish two distinct objectives:

To facilitate the professional growth of trades people who are already in the workforce, by supporting ongoing academic study.
To encourage men and women to consider construction as a career, and to offer financial assistance toward that noble end.

The ConstructionJobs.com Scholarship for Students in Construction provides $1,000.00 for up to 10 students annually. We seek to award the ConstructionJobs.com Scholarship for Students in Construction to those whose current course of studies, intended course of studies, and past and current affiliation with construction companies indicate a dedication to the construction industry.

These scholarships are administered through the not-for-profit foundation Building Future Builders, who will accept and review all applications and awards all prizes without prejudice toward any institution.

Eligibility and Rules

Those eligible for the ConstructionJobs.com Scholarship for Students in Construction are as follows:

All students currently enrolled in an accredited college or university who are studying civil engineering, architectural engineering, construction management, construction technology, engineering technology, building construction, building science or another course of studies related to and leading to employment in construction.
All students who are currently employed with a construction company while they attend school.
Those students who are committed to pursuing or continuing a career in the construction industry.

These rules apply to those who apply for or receive a scholarship from ConstructionJobs.com:

Building Future Builders must receive two things from you: the most up-to-date Transcript showing your current GPA and course history and a completed Application.

The first reference on your application must be from a construction professional who can speak to your involvement in and dedication to the construction industry. That professional must call Building Future Builders to provide a very brief recommendation on your behalf. Please have him or her call Perry Dror at 828-255-0063.

The $1,000.00 award will be sent directly to the recipient's school and will be applied to his or her academic needs for the designated semester.

We are currently accepting applications for the Spring 2008 semester. The application period ends December 1, 2008.

Notification

Building Future Builders will select those who will receive the Scholarship within approximately two weeks following the application closing date. The $1,000.00 award will be sent after students are notified.
