High School Programs

We plan to arrange a program of lectures, jobsite visits, and other activities to encourage high school students to study construction management; or consider entering the construction industry through the trades.

There is already a Construction Academy program in Eastern Tennessee, which serves as a model program. Similar programs are in the operative planning stage in the Asheville area.

Once Asheville pilot programs have been debugged we will package the program elements so that other school boards can adopt the program for their schools.  Our objective is to become program specialists/advisors, and thereby be a resource to the school boards. We will also act as matchmakers, helping to recruit general and sub contractors that will partner with the schools; providing expertise, job shadowing opportunities and / or employment.

In June 208 we held the inaugural session of our Construction Summer Camp, which is aimed at rising ninth graders. This camp serves the double purpose of acculturating the students to the construction world, while creating a group of natural constituents for a high-school construction program.
